Partnership between Achmea and startup TrueSim accelerates nationwide rollout of simulation training for healthcare
Mixed Reality and AI make simulation training in healthcare safer and more effective
Amsterdam, 23 September 2025 – Achmea Impact Ventures is collaborating with TrueSim, a Dutch healthtech startup that makes simulation training for healthcare safer and more effective through the use of Mixed Reality and AI: a technology that combines the real world and the virtual world. With this collaboration, Achmea supports TrueSim’s ambition to make digital medical simulation training available to more hospitals and healthcare professionals in the Netherlands and Belgium.
Innovations in healthcare are necessary
Innovations in healthcare are necessary to meet the growing and changing demand for care in the Netherlands. This places high demands on the medical competencies of healthcare professionals. With the help of AI and Mixed Reality, medical simulation training becomes scalable and affordable. TrueSim offers a digital platform through which healthcare professionals can train realistic medical scenarios and validated conditions, which can occur directly in their working environment. Interactive and lifelike, as if they are standing next to the patient.
In the Netherlands and Belgium, 28 hospitals and educational institutes make use of TrueSim. Thanks to these simulation trainings from TrueSim, healthcare professionals are better prepared for acute real-life situations and can act more effectively and with greater confidence.
